Karel Wegert Named Executive VP
Exciting news to share from our leadership team. Effective immediately, Karel Wegert has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Media Experts.
Previously occupying the position of Senior Vice President, Digital, Wegert now joins the agency’s Executive Committee, continuing to report directly to Robert Jenkyn, President. This promotion marks the agency’s commitment to maintaining their position as trailblazers in the digital media and analytics sphere, which has been greatly abetted under Wegert’s leadership.
Wegert joined Media Experts in 2007 to establish their budding Search Marketing practice, helping the agency to become Canada’s first Google certified media agency. During his time here, he has been instrumental in launching Canada’s first Business Intelligence offering as well as Xpeto, Canada’s first agency programmatic trading desk. Most recently, Wegert spearheaded the launch of their Audience & Analytics service, which harmonizes activity across all digital channels to extract maximum value out of Google Analytics 360 for clients.

Under the scope of this new role as Executive Vice President, Wegert will apply his digital background to future-proof both the agency and its clients’ business practices. As a member of the executive team, he will also contribute to overall agency direction, helping to identify growth opportunities, provide strategic guidance for clients, and represent Media Experts as a member of various industry organizations.
Wegert’s promotion is also a reflection of Media Experts’ commitment to fostering career growth. His 13 years at the agency contributes to Media Experts holding one of the highest employee tenure rates of any Canadian agency, with 40% of employees having been at the agency for five years or more.
