Media Experts Raises $65,000 for On Our Own O3

Mixing big laughs with good deeds is a winning combination for Media Experts. This year’s fifth anniversary edition of Media Experts presents Joey Elias and the Comedy All-Stars: an evening of hilarity for the benefit of On Our Own (O3) raised $65,000 – a new record for the annual comedy benefit show.

The impressive (and hilarious) lineup of entertainers included Montreal’s brightest comedy All-Stars joining Joey onstage: host Darren Henwood, Ellie MacDonald, Habib Siam, Leonard Yelle, Emma Wilkie and Lawrence Corber. The event was staged at Club Soda in Montreal, where over 250 attendees enjoyed an evening of cutting-edge comedy for a great cause.

“As a business owner, I believe that we as a collective have a responsibility to give back. Business of any size can and should make a real difference in other people’s lives,” says Mark Sherman, CEO of Media Experts. “For us, it has been gratifying these past six years to do what we can to help a much-needed organization such as O3 continue to deliver impactful results in our community.”

With Media Experts footing the bill for event logistics, and the comedians donating their time and talent, 100% of the funds raised from the comedy benefit evening go to funding Montreal-based On Our Own’s invaluable programs that provide critical support services and affordable transitional housing for young, at-risk new families wishing to develop the life skills they need to live independently in the community.

This year’s donations brings the grand total raised to date to $ 215,000 – badly needed funds that allows O3 to continue making a difference for those in need. “The annual donation presented from this comedy benefit represents the single largest infusion of funds that O3 receives per year,” says Fiona Keats, Director of O3. “With our public funding at risk of being cut drastically in the next year, this gift allows O3 now more than ever to continue to improve the quality of life for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.”
