WestJet’s “vacation flex” prank turns travel bragging into booking buzz

WestJet just pulled off another epic April Fools’ stunt! This year’s “Vacation Flex” campaign, developed with Oliver and Media Experts, cleverly tapped into meme culture. It invited travelers to submit their vacation photos for a chance to be featured on digital billboards—only to surprise them with a booking offer. 😏✈️

With a playful nod to our love for showcasing our travels, WestJet has kept the fun alive with social media buzz, influencer collaborations, and nostalgic lo-fi videos. After past hits like AI-generated vacation memories and the infamous Fyre Festival, they've again mastered the art of turning pranks into engagement—and perhaps even bookings.

Did you fall for it?
